Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Router Operator to join our plastics manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC routing equipment to produce high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to ensure precision and efficiency in production processes. The Router Operator will play a vital role in supporting manufacturing operations, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining quality control throughout the production cycle.
Duties
- Set up and operate CNC routing machine utilizing CAD files and CNC programming skills.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately produce parts.
- Program controllers and other programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimize machine performance.
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, tape measures and other measuring devices to verify dimensions and ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret technical drawings for assembly and machining
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as packaging finished products and inventory management using forklift or other warehouse equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while adhering to quality standards.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as table routers
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
- Experience with blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge and machining processes.
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, hand tools, and basic math skills for precise measurements.
- Warehouse experience including forklift operation is a plus.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures within a manufacturing industrial environment.
- Prior experience working with router machines, CNC programming.
