Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Long Haul and Regional Haul Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks across long-distance and regional routes, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience with heavy equipment, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to work with a professional fleet in a dynamic logistics environment, supporting the movement of freight across various regions.
Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for long-haul and regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Transport freight efficiently between designated locations, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Load and unload freight using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle logs.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to keep trucks in optimal condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules, delays, or issues during transit.
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record.
- Experience with freight transportation over long distances and regional routes.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and heavy equipment for loading/unloading cargo.
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting vehicle issues on the road.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments.
- Strong understanding of freight handling procedures and safety standards.
- Excellent navigation skills with familiarity with regional routes and GPS systems.
- Physical ability to load/unload freight manually or using heavy equipment; capable of lifting heavy loads as required.
- Prior experience in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, or related fields is highly desirable. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our logistics operations through safe driving practices, efficient freight handling, and reliable service delivery.
Pay: $44,122.06-$153,074.97 per year
