Loesen Farms Inc. is seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Grower to join our commercial greenhouse operation in Ruthven & Leamington, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about greenhouse production and eager to develop a career in the industry
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor crop health and plant performance.
- Mix and manage fertilizer solutions.
- Adjust irrigation, fertigation, and climate control systems.
- Troubleshoot crop and greenhouse production issues.
- Collect, record, and report crop and environmental data.
- Assist with crop planning and production forecasting.
- Respond to greenhouse alarms and emergencies as needed.
- Maintain clean and organized growing areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous greenhouse experience is preferred but not required.
- Growing experience is an asset.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Experience with greenhouse climate control systems (such as Priva, Hoogendoorn, or similar) is considered an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call for alarms.
- Reliable, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
