Levert is currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Core Logging Geologist to support an established mineral exploration and development company working on gold and polymetallic exploration projects in Northeastern Ontario.
This hands-on role is ideal for a geologist who enjoys working directly with diamond drill core, identifying geological features, and turning field observations into accurate data that helps drive exploration decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed geological logging of diamond drill core, including lithology, alteration, mineralization, veining and structural features
- Complete geotechnical logging as required, including core recovery, RQD, fracture frequency and other rock-quality characteristics
- Mark drill core for sampling, cutting and assay intervals in accordance with established geological procedures
- Ensure accurate core handling, orientation, photography, labelling and storage
- Enter geological, geotechnical and sampling information into the geological database or core logging software
- Review logging, sampling and assay information for accuracy, completeness and consistency
- Follow established QA/QC procedures, including the appropriate use and tracking of standards, blanks and duplicates
- Identify and communicate significant geological observations and mineralized intersections to the exploration team
- Assist with geological interpretation, cross-sections, drill-hole plans and updates to geological models as required
- Support drill program activities, including drill-hole tracking, core retrieval and coordination with drilling contractors and field personnel as required
- Maintain an organized, safe and efficient core shack and sample storage area
- Work collaboratively with exploration geologists, geological technicians, contractors and other project personnel
- Comply with all company and site health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
What you need:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geological Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience logging diamond drill core in a mineral exploration or mining environment is preferred
- Knowledge of lithology, alteration, mineralization, structural geology and mineral exploration practices
- Experience with geological databases and core logging software is considered an asset
- Eligibility for registration as a Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with Professional Geoscientists Ontario is considered an asset
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and consistent geological records
- Strong communication, interpersonal and team-working skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote field environment and as part of a multidisciplinary exploration team
- Ability to follow Health & Safety programs and procedures
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote project locations
