Express Employment Professionals is recruiting a Licensed Industrial Mechanic Millwright on behalf of our client, a global leader in human and animal nutrition and agricultural processing.
This is a hands-on industrial maintenance role in a food manufacturing environment with strict site safety requirements. Candidates must be able to comply with respirator fit requirements, including no beards, as well as site policies that do not permit smoking or cell phones on company premises.
The successful candidate will troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and maintain mechanical equipment to support safe and reliable plant operations.

- Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Employment Type: Evaluation-to-hire / temporary-to-permanent
- Pay: Hourly rate to be confirmed based on classification and experience
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and identify required repairs or adjustments
- Repair, rebuild, install, and maintain industrial machinery and equipment
- Maintain mechanical equipment, power transmission systems, conveyors, couplings, and related components
- Support preventative and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime
- Perform work involving coupling alignment, rigging, hydraulics, cutting, grinding, and welding as required
- Read and interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and maintenance documentation
- Document completed work, repairs, modifications, and equipment updates
- Recommend changes or upgrades to improve machine reliability and performance
- Follow established safety standards, procedures, and site policies
- Communicate clearly with maintenance, production, and supervisory teams
Required Qualifications
- 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright licence or Red Seal Millwright certification
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience repairing and maintaining industrial equipment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to read drawings, manuals, and technical documentation
- Strong safety awareness
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to perform physical work in an active industrial environment
Assets
- Experience in food manufacturing, feed, agricultural processing, or a related industrial environment
- Knowledge of OHSA standards, GMPs, HACCP, or food/feed safety requirements
- Experience with conveyors, coupling alignments, hydraulics, safe rigging practices, cutting, grinding, and welding
- Previous experience in a unionized industrial environment
- Two or more years of journeyperson experience
Working Conditions
- Active food manufacturing / industrial plant environment
- Exposure to moving machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical components, temperature changes, and potential slip/trip hazards
- Safety shoes / boots are required
- No beards are permitted due to respirator fit and site health and safety requirements
- No smoking and no cell phones on company premises
- Role may involve a unionized environment depending on plant assignment
