We are hiring a skilled Commercial Construction Electrician to join our site crews. This is a dedicated construction role focused on the layout, rough-in, and trim-out phases of commercial buildings. You will work on-site daily, turning architectural blueprints into safely powered commercial infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rough-Ins & Structural Wiring: Layout and execute large-scale rough-ins, bending and installing extensive EMT conduit networks, junction boxes, and cable trays.
- Heavy Power Installation: Install and wire main commercial services, distribution switchgear, step-down transformers, and sub-panels.
- Device Trim-Out: Install and terminate commercial LED lighting systems, emergency lighting arrays, occupancy sensors, receptacles, and mechanical equipment hookups.
- Blueprint Navigation: Independently interpret detailed architectural, structural, and electrical construction prints to accurately determine system layouts.
- Site Safety: Maintain a clean work zone and rigorously adhere to site-specific safety protocols, COR guidelines, and the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
Qualifications & Skills:
- Certification: Valid Alberta Journeyman Electrician ticket or Interprovincial Red Seal (Registered 3rd or 4th-year construction apprentices with strong conduit skills are encouraged to apply).
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience specifically on commercial construction job sites.
- Technical Skills: Exceptional speed and accuracy in bending EMT conduit (1/2" to 2"+) and managing heavy wire pulls.
- Safety Tickets: Valid Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform (AWP), and CSTS-2020.
- Logistics: Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable personal transportation to get to local job sites daily.
