Overview
We are seeking an assistant to our head bookkeeper in our accounting department. This is a fast paced position with significant opportunity for career advancement. The position does not require any particular work or academic experience as our senior bookkeeper will provide on the job training for this position. The candidate must have:

2 willing to learn and be patient in learning the different aspects of the job
3. be hard working, highly organized and detail-oriented
4. be an effective communicator and team player
While not required, it would be a plus if the candidate had an understanding of accounting principles and candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not have experience with accounting principals.
Duties
- Posting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Attending to all appropriate government remittances including GST and PST in coordination with company accountants.
- Conduct trust and general account analysis to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare monthly trust reconciliation statements and reports for management review.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and reviews to maintain accurate cash flow records.
- Ensure compliance with all Law Society and banking regulations and standards.
- Utilize accounting software such as esilaw for efficient financial management.
- Collaborate with lawyers, paralegals and staff to provide management insights that support strategic decision-making.
Above duties will be performed in conjunction with working with our senior bookkeeper.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
