STRABAG is actively seeking a Construction Inspector for our Canadian division where he/she can utilize their extensive knowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of the organization. The successful candidate will be stationed at the project site in Scarborough Area
Job Summary:
As a Construction Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our construction projects. You will be responsible for inspecting various construction sites, and assessing workmanship, materials, and compliance with building codes, specifications, and industry standards. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will contribute significantly to the success and reputation of our company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable regulations.
- Document and report any defects, deficiencies, or deviations from project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to address and resolve inspection findings.
- Perform quality control checks on materials, workmanship, and construction processes.
- Review construction documents and blueprints to understand project requirements.
- Keep accurate records of inspections and prepare detailed reports.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to improve construction processes and quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Construction Inspector in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of the City of Toronto, Ontario Provincial and Municipal Standards.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Excellent attention to detail and observation skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions based on inspection findings.
- Proficient in MS Word / Excel / Outlook
- Familiarity with construction software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore) is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ICC Building Inspector, ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician) are a plus.
- 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
