Job Description
The Industrial Millwright is responsible for maintaining and improving the plant facilities, machinery and control systems and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees by performing such work as preventative, corrective and redesign maintenance and new equipment installations.
Duties:

Repair critical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and ensure optimum plant operation by protecting the daily production and maintenance schedules and achieving daily planned work targets.

Apply technical knowledge and skills to the repair and perform maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment such as CNC controlled punching shearing and material transportation systems, overhead and wall cranes, fluid and air power systems and controls, band saws, welding feeders and power supplies, and roll forming lines.

Support spare parts inventory and work order business processes and quality of data collected in the database.

Maintain a safe, neat and clean working environment and comply with all legislated and company health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs.

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications

Licensed 433A Millwright certification.

Working knowledge of MIG/ARC welding.

Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment would be an asset.

Working knowledge of lathe, milling machine, grinder and hand tools.

Confident with reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.

Ability to communicate, read and write in English is a must.

Familiar with working at heights and lock-out tag-out procedures.

Ability to generate improvement solutions through root cause analysis to eliminate repeat failures.

Experience using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
Physical Demands:
The ability to stand continuously is essential with frequent walking and occasional sitting. The nature of the position will require the employee to perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (50 – 100 lb) to climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
Work Environment:
Constant exposure to a steel fabrication environment and regular exposure to weather conditions, excessive noise levels and vibrations. Often works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Working at heights using aerial work platforms, working near energized systems including pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical.
