ACCOUNTABILITY & OBJECTIVE: Responsible for the demonstration of outstanding public relations skills with residents, potential clients, staff and all persons visiting the Dr. Hemstock Residence. Responsible for processing financial transactions; maintaining adequate records, and performs word processing tasks as directed by the Office Manager. Ensures effective team communication within the residence, in a confidential manner.

BACKGROUND / QUALIFICATIONS: • Experience in cash handling and performing a reception function. • The incumbent must have proven computer literacy in Windows/Word/Excel with an adaptability to handle database programs, and emergency response system. • A people person with a heart for seniors and a positive, outgoing disposition. Ability to work independently as well as taking direction.

  • A person with a positive self image and ability to use initiative in problem solving, a team player. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Greets residents, families and guests to the Dr. Hemstock Residence. • Processes all telephone calls and ensures that messages are distributed promptly.
  • Provides information about the Dr. Hemstock Residence to current residents and prospective residents. • Responds to resident service requests and refers to appropriate team members for action. • Processes in-coming and outgoing mail, as directed.
  • Maintains accurate resident files. • Handles initial inquiries re prospects - and in the absence of the manager or marketing person, ascertains appointments are booked or tours are given. • Accepts and signs for deliveries if required, and ascertains accurate paperwork flow. • Cash handling for all guest meals, revenue from services, extra resident service, etc.
  • Creates and executes the typing of notices or newsletters as designated. • Maintains a daily record of resident census to support revenue and receivables. • Performs duties of an administrative or word processing function, as assigned. • Ensures the security of the Residence by monitoring incoming and outgoing residents, guests, and other people.
  • Communicates effectively with team members re tasks or services to be expedited by housekeeping, resident services or maintenance. • Shares responsibility, through in-service and education, in safety standards of the residence. • Is committed to excellence and the establishing of a “Fabled Residence”. • Demonstrates flexibility; ability to bend to changing demands.
