Solid Rock Ottawa is a medium-sized, fast-growing renovation and building company. We operate in Ottawa and its surroundings. Solid Rock Ottawa takes on a variety of projects including, but not limited to, kitchen and bathroom renovations, flooring installation, house remodelling, exterior refinishing, and new-construction. Not only do we project manage the renovations from start to finish, we also deliver high quality and timely renovation projects to our clients.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your current skills, but also grow and expand your trade. Though you will work within a team of skilled labourers, you will be expected to be able to lead the renovation project with minimal support and take on large projects from start to finish. Lead Carpenter Responsibilities:
Responsible for project oversight, ensuring quality work is completed on time
Provide material list to supervisor and assist with purchasing as needed
Oversee general labourers and coordinate workers at the job site Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
Observe all safety requirements and regulations at all times
Provide consistent, regular project updates to crew and clients Minimize waste and maximize efficiency to reduce costs Demonstrate a vast general knowledge of construction best practices Maintain up to date knowledge of all code requirements
Meet or exceed all code requirements Maintain excellent client relationships
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree/trade certification preferred
Must have strong framing and finish carpentry skills
Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in the construction or renovation field
Proven track record of successful projects and satisfied clients
Significant experience with residential construction and renovation projects
Must be able to travel from job site to job site across Ottawa and its surroundings
Must be able to read autocad plans and blueprints
