Core Responsibilities:
- Receiving, logging, and preparing cannabis and cannabis-derived samples for microbiological analysis.
- Performing microbiological testing using validated methods in accordance with Health Canada regulations and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
- Recording, reviewing, and reporting results accurately using the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) verified and validated by senior lab staff.
- Logging and validating samples for testing.
- Accurate and timely data collection, analysis and interpretation, and accurate record keeping.
- Adherence to laboratory SOPs, Quality Assurance and Quality Control protocols and procedures.
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
- Cleaning and basic maintenance of laboratory stations and general facilities.
- Supporting other laboratory technicians, chemists, and scientists as instructed.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience.
- Preferred experience in GLP, GMP background.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, punctuality and following through on commitments.
- Proficiency in excel, database user-interfaces, and query software.
- Effective time and task management.
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated knowledge of GMP and ISO 17025 requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- LIMS experience is an asset.
Years of Service:
- Lab Technician I: 1-3 years of Eurofins ExperNorth experience in role
- Lab Technician II: 3-5 years of Eurofins ExperNorth experience in role
- Lab Technician III: 5+ years of Eurofins ExperNorth experience in role
