Position Overview:
The Landscape Crew Lead is a hands-on working leader responsible for both performing landscape maintenance and construction work and leading a crew in the field. This role is not strictly supervisory; the Crew Lead is expected to actively participate in daily job site tasks while ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work independently or alongside crew members performing all aspects of landscape maintenance and construction
- Lead and direct a small crew on daily job sites while remaining actively involved in field work
- Ensure all work is completed to company quality standards and client expectations
- Read and follow work orders, site instructions, and job requirements
- Organize daily tasks and help manage workflow on site to maintain productivity
- Provide guidance and demonstrate proper techniques and work practices to crew members
- Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and effectively
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all company safety procedures
- Communicate job progress, site issues, and material needs to management
- Support overall site cleanup, finishing details, and quality control to ensure a professional result
Qualifications:
- Experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance, with proven field experience (lead experience preferred)
- Strong work ethic with the ability to perform physically demanding outdoor labor
- Ability to lead by example while actively working in the field
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and equipment operation
- Ability to manage time and priorities on active job sites
- Current full G Drivers License with a clean abstract
