We are currently seeking an ACCOUNTING & FINANCE MANAGER.

Reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with other members of the Finance team, both in the Vancouver corporate office and globally, the Accounting & Finance Manager is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, overseeing the day-to-day accounting function and preparing regulatory public company filings. The role will assist finance management with the ensuring TSX regulatory, audit & tax compliance.

This role will allow you to participate in UrtheCast's growth and take the reins of the company's financial reporting responsibility. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support quarterly and annual external reporting process, including preparation of financial statements & note disclosures in accordance with IFRS, MD&A and other regulatory filings.
Analyze accounting impact of new contracts, financings and other transactions, adoption of new accounting standards, and prepare technical accounting memos where required.
Manage and oversee daily activities of the accounting department and ensuring a timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close
Ensure accurate consolidation of the Company's international operations and oversee month-end close procedures
Review and approve transactions, working papers and reconciliations prepared by the accounting team
Work closely with the subsidiary accounting teams in Spain & France to ensure accuracy and timeliness of month-end results, compliance with IFRS and head office accounting policies
Liaise with external auditors and assist with satisfying audit requests
Oversee the accounting team (2 direct reports) and provide mentorship and guidance
Assist with preparation of Corporate tax returns and ensure tax compliance
Maintain share-based compensation records and accounting
Support FP&A Director with preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, monthly variance analysis, internal reporting packages when required
Assist with documentation and enforcement of internal controls, including implementation of controls in newly acquired operations
Support the Director of Finance with special projects as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree combined with a professional accounting designation (CPA)
Minimum of 3 years post-designation experience with a combination of experience in public practice and in industry preferred, ideally in a similar role
Advanced knowledge of IFRS and experience with technical accounting matters a must (i.e. revenue recognition, acquisitions, impairments, financial instruments etc.)
Public company reporting experience a must
Experience managing and leading an accounting team
Experience in technology industry a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Advanced Excel skills and experience with modelling cashflows, forecasts etc.
Experience with using ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
Highly flexible and adaptable individual that can wear many hats in a fast-paced and changing environment
Shows initiative and ability to implement and improve processes and procedures
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented and able to coordinate multiple activities at the same time
Ability to meet goals and deliver accurately within tight deadlines
