Razphalt® is an innovative Alberta-made paving solution that transforms recycled asphalt shingles and recycled asphalt into a durable, cost-effective surfacing product. Installed using conventional paving equipment, Razphalt® is used on commercial yards, acreage driveways, parking lots, private roads, and municipal projects throughout Alberta.
As Razphalt® continues to expand we are looking for an experienced Lead Paving Operator / Foreman for the 2026 paving season starting right away through September 2026.
Position Overview
This position is responsible for operating our LeeBoy 7000C asphalt paver while leading a small installation crew of approximately three people. The successful candidate will oversee daily paving operations, maintain quality standards, ensure safe work practices, and help deliver exceptional results for our customers.
This role is ideal for someone who has strong paving experience, enjoys leading a crew, and takes pride in producing quality work.
Responsibilities
- Operate a LeeBoy 7000C asphalt paver safely and efficiently.
- Lead and supervise a paving crew of approximately three people.
- Coordinate daily installation activities with management and truck drivers.
- Monitor paving quality, consistency, grade, and finished appearance.
- Assist with grading, paving, compaction, and site preparation activities as required.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
- Train, mentor, and support crew members.
- Communicate effectively with management, customers, and team members.
- Follow all company safety procedures and installation standards.
Qualifications
Required
- 2-3 years of paving experience operating asphalt paving equipment.
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Lead Hand, Crew Lead, or Supervisor.
- Understanding of paving, grading, and compaction practices.
- English communication skills, including verbal communication and written (text) communication for daily coordination with crew members, management, and customers.
- Ability to read site conditions and make sound operational decisions.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with own reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in rain and sunshine.
- Physically capable of performing construction-related duties.
Additonal Assets
- Experience operating a skid steer.
- Experience operating a loader, or other construction equipment.
- Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License.
- First Aid Certification.
