THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST
For over 25 years, Canadian Rail Car Cleaners Inc. (CRCC) has provided rail car maintenance and pre-trip services to the railroads across southern Ontario, with a focus on safety and quality above all else. We are currently looking for three (3) Part-Time Railcar Pre-Trippers/Labourers to join our crew, working Fridays and Sundays (and other available shifts on a voluntary basis).
No prior railway experience is necessary. If you've worked in safety-conscious outdoor manual labour environments, like landscaping, construction, agriculture, warehousing, moving, freight, or similar, we can train you.
WHAT THE JOB IS
Part-time work at our pre-trip operations located in Alliston, working Fridays and Sundays. 8-hour morning shifts starting at 4:00 AM. $23.29/hour to start, increasing to $25.28/hour after 90 days. 16 guaranteed hours per week, with additional shifts regularly available on a voluntary basis.
SHIFT INFORMATION
- Working Fridays and Sundays, 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM (8 hours each day, at least 16 paid hours/week guaranteed).
- Additional shifts regularly become available throughout the week to cover vacations, absences, etc.
TRAINING PERIOD
Training is fully paid. We prefer to train new hires for the first 1-2 weeks on a Monday-to-Friday, full-time hours basis. This significantly shortens ramp-up and helps you start your regular Friday/Sunday shifts sooner with confidence. Alternative training arrangements can be considered if you cannot accommodate full-time training hours upon hire (discuss with us during the interview.)

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- Safety-conscious mindset and good decision-making

- Valid Ontario G2 or higher driver's licence (required; you will be driving work trucks within the rail yard)
- Reliable transportation to the work site (it is not located on any public transit routes)
- Comfort working independently and as part of a team
- Ability to pass railway industry safety testing and a security background check upon hire (costs covered by the company); credentials must be renewed every 3 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job is labour-intensive and you will be required to:

- Subject to dust, dirt, and loud noises (full PPE provided and must be worn)
- Industrial rail yard environment with active rail equipment
WHAT WE PROVIDE
