Overview
Grande West Builders is a local home building company specializing in custom homes in Grande Prairie & Area. We are looking for a skilled laborer to join our team who would be interested in growing with our company over time.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn various construction techniques. This role involves assisting in a variety of tasks related to construction of new homes and the warranty work that follows. You will work closely with skilled tradespeople and contribute to the successful completion of projects while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Ability to help frame decks, basements, back frame, install metal railing, concrete prep floor prep
- Operate skid steer for backfill, concrete prep and grading.
- Service and warranty work on completed homes
- Support construction estimating by providing accurate measurements and material counts.
- Collecting and delivering building materials.
- Collaborate with carpenters to assist in framing, finishing, and other carpentry-related duties.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all materials are stored properly.
- Follow all safety protocols to minimize risks on the job site.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to construction tasks.
- Ability to operate a skid steer
- Self starter, who can manage multiple ongoing projects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively on-site.

Compensation will be based on experience and future apprenticeship plans. A carpentry background or experience in the home building industry would be preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
