The School of Liberal Arts and Life Sciences delivers a range of certificate, diploma, university transfer, and service courses to students in many other Lethbridge College programs.

The School of Liberal Arts and Life Sciences particularly seeks faculty members with superior preparation and ongoing engagement in their academic and professional fields, passion for teaching, and willingness to commit to making excellence in teaching their primary focus.

The School defines itself through excellence in teaching and learning, fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking in all activities: development and renewal of courses and programs, approaches to teaching and learning, and scholarly activity and community engagement by students and faculty.

The successful candidate will fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Teach two sections of Writing in Public Safety
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional development and scholarship
  • Contribute to the goals and activities of the School of Liberal Arts and Life Sciences and the Centre for Applied Arts and Sciences
  • Demonstrate awareness of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action
Job Duties
Responsibilities of all faculty in the School of Liberal Arts and Life Sciences include:

  • Delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes
  • Supporting the success of students with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and learning styles
  • Assessing student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards
  • Contributing to course and program curriculum development and renewal
  • Working collegially within department, School, or College committees and project teams
Required Qualifications
  • MA in English
  • Post-secondary teaching experience in English
