Salary: $47,000 - $56,000 first year (10 year grid up to $74,000)

About the Opportunity: We are seeking a passionate and nurturing Junior STEAM Teacher to join the founding faculty of a new private elementary school located just outside Waterdown, Ontario. Nestled within a beautifully restored historic building and surrounded by 50 acres of natural forest, our school offers a unique setting for inquiry-based learning and outdoor education.
This is a rare opportunity to be part of a creative and collaborative team of educators who are passionate about developing an engaging and integrated STEAM curriculum. Our program emphasizes hands-on exploration, cross-disciplinary thinking, and real-world problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) for Junior School.
· Integrate outdoor education into the STEAM curriculum, utilizing the surrounding natural environment as an extended classroom.
· Foster a student-centered, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment.
· Collaborate with colleagues to co-create an innovative educational model.
· Contribute to the development of school culture, values, and community initiatives.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor of Education with OCT certification or eligibility (Junior Division preferred).
· Experience designing and delivering STEAM lessons for elementary-aged learners.
· Familiarity with inquiry-based teaching methods and project-based learning.
· A passion for outdoor education and environmental awareness is an asset.
· Strong communication, teamwork, and classroom management skills.
· Creativity, adaptability, and a pioneering spirit to help build a new school.
