Reporting to the Manager, GRS Operations Compliance, you will be part of the team responsible for providing compliance support to assist all areas of Group Retirement Services in meeting applicable regulatory and compliance obligations.
Interpret new and updated legislation of the various provincial jurisdictions and regulatory authorities
Review new product or business requests and determine impact to contractual material and applications; work with impacted areas to apply the changes to the affected material
Act as Compliance representative on projects involving GRS
Manage timelines to ensure regulatory changes and project work are completed within defined schedules
Research and respond to inquiries from the administration teams and distribution channels
Provide compliance support for RFP’s and security questionnaires
Review external GRS communications
Liaise with Individual Customer Compliance, Group Compliance, Group Customer Risk & Controls, Law Department and Product Tax
Partner with all GRS Operations and Group Customer teams to support projects, changes and other initiatives
Develop and maintain relationships with external parties including provincial and federal authorities as well as industry partners
Update and maintain the Compliance Management System (CMS)
Qualifications and Competencies:
Knowledge of the GRS business, products and applicable legislation/regulations is required
Familiarity with the concept of managing risk is required
Ability to review and interpret complex material
Mature self-starter who assumes ownership of problems and identifies creative solutions
Strong organization skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities independently
Dedicated team player, keen on sharing knowledge, skills and ideas with team members and business partners
Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management; ability to foster working relationships with all business partners at all levels, both internal and external to the organization
Excellent analytical, strong problem-solving skills and trouble-shooting ability
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
