Overview
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Recreation & Facilities provides leadership and oversight for the Town's recreation facilities, parks, public spaces, and recreation services. The Director is responsible for the planning, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of municipal recreation assets and programs while supporting safe, accessible, and high-quality services that meet community needs.
The position oversees facility operations, parks services, departmental budgeting, capital planning, staff supervision, and community partnerships. The Director works collaboratively with community organizations, schools, volunteers, and user groups to support recreation opportunities and enhance quality of life throughout The Pas.

Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Recreation Management, Facility Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Community Development, Kinesiology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in recreation, facilities, parks, municipal operations, or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or management experience; experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with budgeting, capital planning, and project management.
- Experience working with community organizations, volunteers, and public stakeholders.
- Municipal government experience is considered an asset.
- Relevant professional certifications are considered an asset.
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time management position based in The Pas, Manitoba, working 40 hours per week. Flexibility is required to attend evening meetings, community events, special programs, tournaments, and seasonal activities. Occasional weekend work and after-hours responses to emergencies or operational issues may be required. Work is performed in both office and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
Compensation
$80,000 to $90,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
