Duties
- Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and organize freight within warehouses and yards
- Manage freight movement by coordinating shipments, verifying delivery details, and ensuring timely processing
- Drive commercial vehicles safely to transport goods between locations in compliance with all transportation laws and safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of company vehicles, including automotive troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Support warehouse operations by preparing freight for shipment, staging items for delivery, and maintaining accurate inventory records
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations to prevent accidents or damage
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts and heavy machinery in a logistics or warehouse setting
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and shipping documentation
- Basic automotive repair skills for troubleshooting vehicle issues quickly on-site
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various environments
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing freight documentation and inventory records
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members, drivers, and vendors
