Position Summary:
UNITY Fitness Harbourfront is seeking enthusiastic, certified Swim Instructors to deliver high-quality swim lessons for adults of all skill levels. The ideal candidate is passionate about water safety, skilled in teaching proper swim techniques, and committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. This is a current vacancy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead swim lessons based on age, skill level, and program objectives
- Teach water safety, floating, strokes, breathing techniques, and endurance skills
- Provide individual feedback and encouragement to support progress and confidence
- Maintain a fun, engaging, and safe environment at all times
- Communicate clearly with participants and parents/guardians regarding progress and expectations
- Ensure pool area safety and cleanliness before, during, and after lessons
- Uphold UNITY’s values of professionalism, inclusivity, and community
Requirements:
- Current certification in Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor or equivalent
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C
- Strong swimming ability and understanding of stroke mechanics
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working with a wide range of ages and abilities
- Vulnerable Sector Screening and background check required
Preferred Qualifications:
- National Lifeguard (NL) certification
- Experience teaching both private and group lessons
- Background in aquatics programming, physical education, or recreation is an asset

Pay: $21.00-$44.00 per hour
