About the Role
The Digital Media Coordinator supports the Centre’s growing communications portfolio by producing multimedia and multi‑platform content that highlights its research, leadership, and educational work. The coordinator is responsible for managing the Centre’s websites, social media channels, blogs, newsletters, and digital storytelling, while using analytics to guide strategy and growth.
This role may involve occasional travel, remote work, and evening or weekend assignments.
Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Content Development
· Contribute to strategic digital media campaigns aligned with organizational objectives
· Recommend and implement targeted social media strategies
· Optimize content for visibility and engagement across platforms
· Represent the Centre’s digital “voice” and grow audience engagement
· Create and evaluate paid advertising to increase traffic and awareness
· Monitor and report on KPIs and ROI using analytics tools; make data‑informed recommendations
· Stay current with digital and social media trends, tools, design, and best practices
Community Management
· Daily monitoring of social media inboxes and answer or direct inquiries as needed
· Repost relevant content from partners and industry peers
Creative Production
· Design digital and print assets (brochures, postcards, banners, etc.) using tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
· Create social graphics, videos, and promotional materials
· Coordinate production of digital and multimedia assets with designers, developers, translators, and videographers
Website Oversight
· Ensure website alignment with brand strategy and organizational standards
· Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and accessibility requirements
Administrative & Team Support
· Manage the general communications inbox and direct inquiries appropriately
· Maintain CRM contact lists (Keela or similar)
· Assist with other communications tasks as needed
Qualifications
Required
· Post‑secondary education or equivalent combination of training and experience
· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
· Ability to synthesize complex information into compelling digital content
· Proficiency with new apps, software, and project management tools
· Experience managing websites via CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress)
· Experience developing audience‑specific messaging
· Experience coordinating consultants or service providers
· Strong administrative, organizational, and time‑management skills
· Ability to problem‑solve and work independently in a fast‑paced environment
· Cross‑cultural experience and team collaboration skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism
· Exceptional writing skills in English
· Bilingualism (English/French) strongly preferred
Assets
· Experience in nonprofits, social impact, international development, or related fields
· Experience writing on public policy, DEI, or Indigenous reconciliation
· Experience supporting award programs
· Fluency in other languages
