As one of our AZ or DZ Drivers, you will deliver material to job sites, inspect and maintain trucks, report shortages and claims to the Operations Manager, and assist in loading and storing materials. Boom Equipped Truck for unloading, hoisting and placement of material.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, load, secure, transport, and unload construction materials using company vehicles and equipment.
- Plan delivery routes and verify delivery locations in accordance with dispatcher schedules.
- Ensure loads are properly distributed, secured, protected from weather, and transported in compliance with Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
- Safely operate AZ or DZ vehicles, including truck and trailer combinations where required.
- Operate a boom-equipped truck to unload, hoist, and place materials in accordance with manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and applicable safety regulations.
- Assess job site conditions, including ground stability and overhead hazards, to ensure safe vehicle and boom operation.
- Install stabilizer pads and take appropriate measures to maintain truck and boom stability during unloading operations.
- Use a signal person when required to ensure safe maneuvering, loading, unloading, and boom operation.
- Deliver and place materials neatly and accurately according to customer instructions.
- Collect payments for COD deliveries and obtain customer signatures for all required delivery documentation.
- Report inventory, shipping, receiving, damage, and delivery discrepancies and obtain proper authorization before proceeding.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections, logbooks, and required reports in accordance with company policies and MTO requirements.
- Perform routine checks of vehicle and boom equipment, including tires, lights, brakes, fluids, hydraulic systems, and safety devices, and report deficiencies immediately.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable transportation, occupational health and safety, and company policies and procedures.
- Ensure guardrails, scaffolds, or other safety systems removed during deliveries are promptly reinstalled before leaving the area.
- Maintain a clean and professional vehicle appearance and work environment.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and conduct all work in a safe and professional manner.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service at all times.
- Communicate delivery status, arrivals, departures, and operational updates to designated personnel.
- Work at various job sites throughout the region, starting and ending shifts at Morin Supply's Ottawa location.
- Must be available to work one mandatory Saturday in July, prior to the Civic Holiday weekend, to support annual inventory activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.
Education
- High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED)
Experience
- 1 year Truck Driving (AZ or DZ license)
- 1 year Boom operator experience is considered an asset but not required
License or Certification
- AZ or DZ License with clean driving record
- Insurability for driving and clean MVR
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract and insurable at a regular rate by the insurers of the employer.
- Valid Working at Heights certification is considered an asset
- Valid Boom operator’s license and endorsement is considered an asset (MTCU 0-8 TON)
- Experience with other hydraulic equipment is considered an asset
Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities
- Ability to do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions and complete forms.
- Communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment as prescribed in designated area
Physical Demands
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, with manual dexterity and see acute depth perception and field of vision
- Trunk rotation with 20 lbs. at arms length 180 degrees from side to side.
- Bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis.
- Reach over head to grasp materials
- Strength (lift, carry, push and pull): Maximum lift, 100 lbs.; Frequently lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Environment and Working Conditions
- Work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat to extreme cold.
- Work with mechanical equipment on daily basis.
- Early morning start time is required
