UNIQUE WELDING & FABRICATING LTD. is searching for a seasoned CNC machinist. We are specifically looking for someone with advanced skills that can operate and program machine metal tools. You will be responsible for setting up and operating different CNC machines and equipment in manufacturing setting.
This position requires overall skills in mechanical design, technical drawings, mathematics, and CNC programming, so they can produce products related to our industry.
These include:
· Proficient ability to read drawings and accurately machine close-tolerance parts often within 0.002” tolerance is needed to complete the applications.
· Efficiently and safely use machines; keep tooling, machines, and work areas clean and organized.
· Work with minimal to no supervision.
· Be accountable to machine shop supervisor and/or job leader as applicable.
· Work according to quality procedures.
· Work in a safe manner and follow jurisdictional safety rules
· Working with minimal to no supervision.
· Be able to lift 10 – 30 pounds when required
· Fluent in English
· Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
· Excellent communication skills
Typical duties and responsibilities
· Examine and analyze blueprints, sketches, and computer-related files
· Set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools on lathe
· Measure and examine the effectiveness of completed products
· Produce products drawing to specifications
Required skills and qualifications
· Minimum 3 years of experience setting up and operating CNC Lathe
· Understanding of G&M code or CNC controllers Fanuc Control
· Knowledge of manual Guide I an asset
· Ability to perform machine setups with little to no supervision
