Job Summary:
GDI is currently has an exciting opportunity for a position to join our Human Resources (HR) team as a Junior HR Coordinator. In this role you will be driving the HR business needs and employee relations activities across Canada. You will play an integral role in day to day HR business needs. The ideal candidate will exhibit a passion for supporting operations with HR business needs (e.g. letters, employee relations, etc.) with an ability to deliver results. In addition, he/she must possess good organizational and communication skills combined with a strong customer service orientation.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate a culture that promotes inclusion, innovation, productivity, and collaboration.
- Build strong relationships, listen intently, and utilize clear & transparent communication.
- Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
- Coordinate training sessions, lunch and learns, webinars, etc.
- Draft memos, disciplinary letters, offers of employment, employment confirmation letters, etc.
- Maintain employee files and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports and metrics for management review.
- Support the HR team in various projects and initiatives as needed.
- Coordinate new hire orientation and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new employees.
- Draft and create internal employee communications
- Administer and maintain the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Configure system settings, workflows, and user access based on HR needs.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with IT for resolutions.
- Assist in the development and roll out of new Human Resources initiatives and programs.
- Support other assigned functions.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Human Resources diploma/certificate or relevant work experience
- CHRP is an asset
- Strong MS Office skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A great attitude, a willingness to learn and motivation to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Can work independently with the right intuition
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
