Reporting to the Billing Manager, the Financial Assistant is responsible for the processing and reconciliation of OHIP medical billing including private and Quebec billing, EDT transmission, and support billing efficiencies and inquiries from physicians.
Completed Grade 12 and some post-secondary education from a recognized academic institution
Minimum 2 years medical billing and finance related experience
Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Schedule of Benefits.
Preference for experience in hospital setting billing or sub-specialty medical billing, including cardiology
Advanced knowledge of computers, including MS Office 365, electronic mail, clinical information systems, Teams, and Sharepoint. Knowledge of new computer software requires continuous learning and willingness to take part in various skill acquisition workshops in order to remain efficient in meeting job requirements.
Bilingualism an asset

Able to work within multidisciplinary teams and independently with a high degree of organization and attention to detail
Able to take initiative, to meet deadlines, be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
