This job is located in Perth, Ontario. Shandex Personal Care is a member of the Shandex Group, a private Canadian business which is a supplier of Private Label Products to the major retailers in Canada and the US. Our manufacturing site, Shandex Personal Care Manufacturing is in Perth, Ontario.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Reporting to the plant manager, this role has the dual responsibility of both production manager and continuous improvement engineer.
-Oversees the daily operations of the packaging department, ensuring that all work is in compliance with company safety and quality programs.
-From a production standpoint, responsible for the packaging area of the plant with 4 production supervisors as direct reports, while continuous improvement projects are plant-wide.
-Help develop KPIs related to delivery and cost, and responsible for meeting and exceeding said KPIs
-Introduce lean manufacturing practices, most notably (but not limited to) 5S, TPM, quick changeover, visual factory.
-Works closely with planning, logistics and maintenance to ensure production needs are met at all times.
-Ensures all necessary cross-training is prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
-Lead continuous improvement projects that minimize downtime and increase throughput.
-Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
-Assist with the preparation of budgets, and plant forecasting.
-Success in this role will be measured by production levels vs. standards (service levels), as well as both sales and cost vs. budget.

-Thorough knowledge of, and experience implementing, lean manufacturing and six sigma tools
-Solid understanding of theory of constraints.
-Excellent computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Excel) and ERP systems.
-5+ years of progressive experience in a leadership or project management role in a manufacturing environment.
-Post-secondary degree in a relevant field: engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, or chemical), and/or commerce/business administration.
