Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and tree service equipment. This role is critical to ensuring equipment safety, reliability, and minimal downtime throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and arborist equipment, including dump trucks, bucket trucks, chippers, stump grinders, and loaders
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and safety checks
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems
- Ensure all equipment meets Ontario safety and compliance standards
- Identify potential issues and recommend repairs to reduce downtime
- Work collaboratively with operations staff to support daily field activities
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair, and other heavy machinery components.
- Hands-on experience working with large trucks, chippers, grinders, etc.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Valid certifications or training related to heavy machinery maintenance are preferred but not mandatory. This position is integral to maintaining the reliability of our fleet of heavy equipment while ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times.
