Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately in accordance with doctor’s orders and legal regulations
- Provide comprehensive patient care by offering medication counseling, answering questions, and addressing concerns
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to review prescriptions, verify dosages, and ensure medication safety
- Maintain detailed records of medication dispensation, patient interactions, and inventory management
- Educate patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and interactions to promote safe practices
- Monitor patient progress and adjust medication plans as needed in coordination with medical teams
- Stay current with medical terminology, pharmaceutical updates, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance
Skills
- Proven hospital experience with a strong understanding of acute care environments
- Experience working with pediatric patients and familiarity with pediatric medication protocols
- Excellent knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Strong patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically
- Ability to interpret prescriptions accurately and collaborate seamlessly with healthcare providers
- Attention to detail in managing inventory, documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Adaptability to fast-paced settings while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
Pay: $48.00-$52.00 per hour
