Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated person to provide outreach, advocacy and support services for individuals, and families with children with or suspected FASD. The ideal candidate for this position requires previous experience in supporting clients with disabilities and should have sound knowledge of community resources. A valid drivers license, and reliable vehicle is a requirement of this position.
Responsibilities
- Providing FASD support services during home/office visits.
- Attend meetings with clients as needed
- Make supported referrals to other community agencies with clients.
- Other responsibilities include submitting monthly / quarterly reports, maintaining client files, attending training on FASD. Providing information on FASD to clients and the community.
Requirements
- Education and training: Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Human Services and or extensive experience in FASD
- Related experience: Experience in working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, experience in working with addictions, mental health, and or family violence, experience in working with children and families with special needs, experience in working in community setting.
- Specific skills: Knowledge of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
