Job Description
Windsor Arms Hotel, a luxury boutique property in mid-town Toronto, is seeking an experienced Butler who can contribute to the hotel's commitment to high quality guest service.
As a Butler, your primary role will be to provide exceptional service to our guests. You will be responsible for ensuring that guests receive personalized attention and have their needs met during their stay.
To excel in this role, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to anticipate guests’ needs before they arise.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Rooming all guests who are checking into the hotel, provide a sense of welcome, and ensure guests are familiar with in-room features and amenities in the hotel/guestroom.
- Assist guests with their luggage, carrying it to their room and arranging it as per the guest's preferences.
- Answer any questions or concerns from guests and be able to provide prompt and professional answers.
- Deliver room service orders, and stock any supplies as required.
- Responsible for dropping off guests' dry cleaning at laundry and pick up thereafter.
- Take care of the guest’s requests and liaise with respective departments: wake-up calls, spa bookings, concierge, and any special requests, etc.
- Inform the housekeeping department of the time desired for the daily cleaning and turn-down service.
- Fully aware of operating procedures for all electrical and electronic equipment in the guest room.
- Serve guests in a calm, discrete, and courteous manner, respecting timing standards.
- Carry out checkout in an efficient manner, offering luggage assistance and transportation.
- Fill in for the Valet / Doorman at the Front Door while he/she is on break
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
- Qualifications and Skills
- 2 years minimum experience at a luxury hotel.
- Experience as a Butler or similar role in the hospitality industry
- Must be Smart Serve certified.
- Must hold a valid Ontario Drivers Licence with a clean abstract
- Must possess outstanding guest service skills and sophisticated verbal and communication skills
- Understand and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the Company and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
- Must be well groomed and professional at all times
- Must possess a good command of the English language, both spoken and written. .
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a changing environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Able to stand for an 8-hour shift and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must be available to work AM or PM shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
