THE POSITION
We are looking for an innovative Cloud and Infrastructure specialist to join our team as an Infrastructure Analyst. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a team tasked with the effective design, provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, and associated IT cloud, backup, and on-premises infrastructure. This position requires conducting technical research and development to foster continuous innovation within the IT infrastructure. The individual will play a key role in ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, and backup solutions are optimized for efficiency, cost, and reliability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and maintain cloud-based services and virtual environments
Maintain system and data backups
Develop and maintain the disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
Function as an IT infrastructure specialist resolving software and hardware issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems
Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches
Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports
Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, implement security measures (patches, updates, hot fixes), and ensure compliance with IT security policies
Recommend and execute modifications to server environment in order to improve efficiency, reliability, costs, and performance
Develop and maintain technical documentation
Coordinate and collaborate with other IT teams in order to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of the IT Infrastructure in order to meet business demands
Participate in the development of strategies for server implementations including architecting the infrastructure required to support those strategies
Conduct research on IT infrastructure technologies in support of procurement and development efforts
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a technical diploma in an applicable field or equivalent experience
5+ years’ experience as a System Administrator, focusing on cloud and backup technologies
Knowledge and certification of Cloud technologies including experience with Infrastructure as Code
Knowledge of Commvault backup systems
Knowledge with virtualization, Windows Servers, Office365, and Active Directory
Working knowledge of storage technologies, load balancing and clustering
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining server hardware and associated network equipment
Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools
Familiarity with telephony, network protocols and firewall management
Familiarity with Linux O/S
Familiarity with scripting and automation
Ability to conduct research into server issues and products as required
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
Strong customer service orientation
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Occasional travel to field locations is required
