Advisor Permission to Contact Research
Children’s and Women’s Health Centres of British Columbia, Vancouver
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Women’s Hospital Research Institute and to the Director of Clinical Research for BC Children’s Hospital, the Manager, Permission to Contact for Research will establish procedures for the intake, processing and execution of research contact requests for the Children’s and Women’s Health Centre of British Columbia (C&W), their respective Research Institutes and affiliated investigators. The Manager, with consultation with the Permission to Contact for Research Advisory Group (herein, advisory group), will create research contact policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with local and national privacy and research regulations and will participate in the development and delivery of research contact education and awareness initiatives for C&W-affiliated researchers.
What you’ll do
Establish and implement procedures for the intake, processing and execution of research contact requests, ensuring compliance with local and national privacy and research regulations.
Create a system for the intake, assessment, processing and tracking of applications for patient contact for the purposed of research; and creates processes for obtaining eligible patient records ensuring partnership and approval of the appropriate clinical program.
Create and maintain a system to track patient responses and transmit a list of patients who agree to be contacted for research purposes to the requesting research team. Incorporates feedback from the research community and Advisory Group.
Develop policies and procedures related to the processing of research contact requests in consultation with the advisory group and appropriate stakeholders. Review existing local research ethics board policies and local privacy regulations and establishes guidelines to ensure consistent policy development.
What you bring
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master’s degree in a Health or related discipline.
A minimum of five (5) years related experience in an academic health care organization or related industry including experience with research practices and clinical trials administration.
