Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Liquor Store Clerk to join our retail team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products, providing product demos when necessary
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments
- Maintain accurate merchandising displays to attract customers and promote sales
- Upsell products by recommending complementary items to increase store revenue
- Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as needed to ensure product availability
- Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Ensure compliance with all legal age restrictions for alcohol sales
- Keep the store clean, organized, and well-stocked throughout the shift
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation and store security checks
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in a liquor or convenience store environment
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Ability to operate POS systems and perform basic math calculations accurately
- Organizational skills to manage merchandising and inventory effectively
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities (English plus additional languages) are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of merchandising, cash handling, and retail operations is desirable
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
