Experienced Journeyman Shop Foreman
O’Hanlon Paving, is looking to hire an experienced and motivated Journeyman Shop Foreman to work year round in a full-time capacity in various locations throughout Edmonton. Responsibilities:
· Lead, mentor and supervise heavy equipment technicians and apprentices to achieve a high level of productivity and compliance with procedures and legislative requirements.
· Offer guidance on safe and efficient processes including but not limited to safe job procedures/diagnostics/trouble shooting flow process/sourcing parts.
· Analyze and evaluate performance data, failure analysis, maintenance costs
· Provide job cost analysis to determine necessary repairs or replacement of parts.
· Oversee repairs, servicing, fueling and maintenance of off road, heavy duty mobile equipment.
· Handle communications between the mechanic shop, clients, heavy equipment operators and management.
· Oversee all repairs to ensure quality control and develop recommendations to management on equipment and related mechanical efficiencies.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
· 5 years of experience working as a Mechanical Shop Foreman or in a supervisory capacity in a mechanical shop environment would be an asset.
· A Heavy Duty Technician license and Journeyman/red seal certification is required.
· Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure is required.
· Some experience using an electronic maintenance solution is required and working knowledge of eMaint is considered an asset.
· Proficiency in computer skills, electronic hand held devices and scanners is required.
· Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license or above with a clean drivers abstract.
· High attention to detail and effective communication skills are required.
· Ability to work in varying weather conditions is required.
· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently with little supervision is required.
· Willingness and ability to work extended hours and weekends
· Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
· Valid safety certifications would be an asset.
