Job Summary
Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to join their team in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment and systems within the facility. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Conduct regular inspections and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as needed.
- Diagnose issues and implement solutions using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities and manage inventory.
- Perform welding tasks as required for repairs or equipment modifications.
- Maintain HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control throughout the facility.
- Assist with boiler maintenance and operation while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to complete repairs efficiently.
- Respond to maintenance-related inquiries from staff and management in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance processes and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues effectively.
- Proficiency in electrical systems, including low-voltage applications.
- Experience as an Industrial Electrician is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and boiler operations is an asset.
- Welding experience is beneficial.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required to support operational needs.
