We have an immediate opportunity available for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. This role is for relocation which will be based in Edmonton, AB. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer is responsible for conducting geotechnical investigations and analysis, design of deep and shallow foundations, slope stability analysis, and technical oversight on geotechnical aspects of projects. The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will also be responsible for writing and reviewing technical reports, project specifications, and other documents related to a variety of geotechnical projects.

Responsibilities:
Site Investigation
- Prepare and lead geotechnical investigation programs.
- Conduct geotechnical site investigations to characterize subsurface conditions.
- Supervise and participate in fieldwork, including soil sampling, test hole drilling, and geotechnical testing.
Geotechnical Analysis
- Perform geotechnical analyses as it relates to subsurface conditions, slope stability, bearing capacity, foundation design parameters, settlement, and other geotechnical parameters.
- Provide engineering support and recommendations for construction projects.
Report Writing
- Prepare and review clear and concise geotechnical reports detailing findings, analysis, and recommendations for clients and project teams.
- Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure that geotechnical engineering work complies with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on data, analysis, and reports.
- Participate in the implementation of Inline Group’s Professional Practice Management Plan.
Project Management
- Assist in project management tasks, such as scheduling, and resource allocation for geotechnical activities.
- Monitor project progress and budget to ensure that geotechnical milestones are achieved.
- Interact with internal and external clients to understand project requirements and scope of work, discuss findings, and provide recommendations.
- Support and mentor technologists and junior engineers.
- Address client inquiries and concerns regarding geotechnical aspects of projects
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) Alberta Designation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Environmental Phase 1 and Phase 2 is an asset.
