Job description
Basic construction work where the labourer will be assisting an experienced operator of heavy machinery as we work on residential building sites. Work starts by 7:00am latest and typically ends around 5:00pm or whenever work is completed near end of day. Job location depends on work being done that day. Our company caters to residential construction across numerous cities including Guelph, Cambridge, Breslau, Grand Valley, etc. Labourer will either report first thing in the morning to our shop headquarters or directly to the job site upon guidance from the manager.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting heavy equipment operators with manual labour required on grounds
- Operating smaller machinery like a packer machine when packing grounds
- Helping keep grade during different stages of excavation
- Helping install storm/sewer/water systems in new homes
- Cleaning up residential building sites of debris or garbage
- Shovelling, raking topsoil or carrying gravel using a wheelbarrow
- Using basic handheld power tools such as installing window wells to house
- Guiding heavy machine operators around sites in times of low visibility
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
