Business Development Manager
The Opportunity:
Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for effectively manage our assigned territory to ensure maximum sales and developments are obtained by making sales calls to retail travel agencies. The position will report to the Director of Sales, Eastern Canada and will be located at Toronto, ON.
What You’ll Do:
- Effectively manage the assigned territory to ensure maximum sales and developments are obtained by making sales calls to retail travel agencies.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned areas.
- Work closely with travel agencies in order to find business opportunities, promotions and advertising.
- Provide accurate and timely market intelligence to the Company.
- Represent the company at both trade and consumer shows plus other promotional events as required.
- Prepare and implement various training and development programs for the retail agents. This includes the ability to deliver quality presentations at various events including our own Product Launches each spring.
- The ability to escort and lead promotional familiarization trips to various Sunwing destinations
- Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years of experience in the travel industry.
- Proven sales experience with exceptional customer service skills.
- Post-secondary education in business related discipline and/or previous travel industry experience required.
- Ability to function independently with little or no supervision as well as working effectively in a team environment, with strong time management skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills required with strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle and be available for frequent travel within the assigned territory.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work independently as well as with a team.
