At Father Lacombe Care Society, we proudly provide resident centered care to 264 residents living with a variety of health concerns in Long Term Care and Supportive Living settings. We are also proud to host up to 10 retired Catholic priests from the Calgary diocese, and oversee the Convent for the Sisters of Providence. Our buildings are located on the southern banks of Fish Creek Park. When our staff come to work they feel like they are leaving the city and entering a small community.

What you’ll be doing…
This diverse position is the muscle of the organization. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities and Maintenance, this position will exercise a variety of building operations and maintenance skills while providing essential support to our nursing teams. Including (but not limited to):
- Perform quality assurance functions, including compliance rounds, on daily basis to evaluate compliance with laws, regulations, and facility policies and procedures.
- Preventative maintenance program for all mechanical, equipment, physical plant, and grounds;
- Collect, review, and complete maintenance requests.
- Maintain and test emergency systems, including power, fire alarms, extinguishers etc.
- Maintain all essential equipment and ensure they remain in safe operating condition.
- Test hot water systems daily.
- Inspect, test, and maintain resident call systems.
- Set up and tear down for special events.
- Grounds maintenance.
- Arrange for appropriate resident room repairs, furniture moves, equipment inspections etc.
- Complete required documentation and record keeping of maintenance activities.
- Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Abilities, and Educational Requirements
- Fluent and clear written and spoken English required.
- Minimum Level 5 Power Engineering ticket with ABSA.
- Experience in Long Term Care and/or Supportive Living desired.
- Intermediate computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Self-directed with ability to prioritize and multi-task.
