Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Articling Student to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a law graduate to gain hands-on experience in a variety of legal practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping clients navigate complex legal issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completing files related to Real Estate, Family Law, and Immigration.
- Completing file intakes, and managing ongoing files.
- Conduct legal research and analysis.
- Draft legal documents and correspondence.
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
- Attend client meetings and negotiations.
- Collaborate with team on case strategies and client management.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
- Stay current with legal developments and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Be registered in the Lawyer Licensing Process and eligible for articling in accordance with the requirements set out by the Law Society of Ontario.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Prior experience in a legal environment is an asset, but not required.
