Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Manager, Accounts Payable East is accountable for all aspects of the accounts payable and vendor management function for Sofina, including leading the accounts payable team, internal controls over business processes and vendor risk and managing cash flow.
Location: Brampton/ Mississauga
Key Accountabilities:
1. Provide leadership to the accounting team and oversee day-to-day effectiveness of staff by managing for highest performance. This includes goal setting, coaching, mentoring, developing, training and managing individual performance.
2. Partner with procurement, logistics and engineering teams to evaluate vendor opportunities to maximize cashflow Accountable for managing the accounts payable function for Sofina.
3. Accountable for managing the accounts payable center of excellence and fostering a continuous improvement mindset maintain best practices for accounts payable function.
4. Accountable for accounts payable related internal controls and audit processes, including major supplier reconciliations.
5. Accountable for monitoring accounts payable cash expenditures and achieving cash flow goals.
6. Design and implement standard policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance within AP.
Requirements:
- Preferrable University Degree or College Diploma, in business discipline, combined with a minimum of 5 yrs Accounts Payable management experience is required in a leadership role
- ERP Accounts Payable and General Ledger experience
- Intermediate skill in MS Office applications are required
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong change management skills, including the ability to adapt to evolving priorities, effectively communicate with stakeholders, and drive successful transitions.
- Successful track record of managing the merger of accounts payable teams, including streamlining operations, optimizing resources, and fostering a cohesive team culture.
- Travel is required 20% of the time across GTA
