Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Junior Purchaser / Inventory Coordinator to join our team.
This hands-on role is split approximately 70% on the production floor managing and controlling inventory and 30% office-based processing incoming shipments and related paperwork. This position reports directly to the Purchasing Manager and Facilities Manager.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment, and willing to learn. Forklift experience is preferred, but training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory & Floor Operations (70%)
- Monitor and control inventory levels on the production floor
- Perform inventory counts and cycle counts
- Receive, move, and organize materials and products
- Ensure materials are available for production as needed
- Maintain clean and organized inventory storage areas
- Communicate inventory shortages or discrepancies to management
- Operate a forklift safely to unload and move materials and products to storage areas
Shipping & Administrative Duties (30%)
- Process incoming shipments and receiving documentation
- Verify packing slips and shipment accuracy
- Enter inventory and shipment information into company systems
- Assist with purchase orders and supplier communications
- Maintain accurate inventory and receiving records
- Support purchasing and operations teams as required
- Obtain quotes from multiple suppliers to secure the best pricing for the company
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma
- Previous warehouse, inventory, or purchasing experience is preferred
- Forklift experience preferred; training can be provided
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and documentation skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to process confidential and/or controlled information
- Positive attitude with an upbeat, enthusiastic personality and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move materials as required
