Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Auto Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with experience working in dealership settings preferred. This role involves performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. The Auto Mechanic will utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and schematics to diagnose and repair automotive systems efficiently and accurately. A commitment to quality work and excellent customer service is essential to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues using mechanical knowledge and schematics
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques to complete repairs
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to identify problems and determine appropriate solutions
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed for each vehicle
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance needs clearly to clients
- Assist with vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles for road readiness
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience, preferably within a dealership environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical components
- Experience with welding, schematics reading, assembly, and general maintenance tasks
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills for customer interactions and teamwork
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred
- Certification or technical training in automotive repair is a plus
