JOB OVERVIEW: ASSESSMENT AND TESTING SERVICES SUPPORT ASSISTANT

The Assessment & Testing Services (ATS) Support Assistant is responsible for proactive tier one support for KPU students, faculty, staff and external clients. The ATS Support Assistant ensures a consistent response on exam booking and schedules, registration trouble shooting, accessibility supports, remote testing technical assistance, exam procedures and policies, escalating when required. Provides comprehensive administrative support to the Assessment & Testing Services department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Certificate in Office Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one-year experience in a front line or first tier support capacity preferably in a post-secondary environment.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Able to provide first tier technical and procedural support for KPU students, faculty, staff, by email, phone, and online, insuring a consistent response on exam booking and schedules, registration trouble shooting, accessibility supports, remote testing technical assistance, exam procedures and policies escalating to Test Administrators as needed.
  • Intermediate competency of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote).
  • Able to effectively use online conferencing tools (Teams, Zoom, Big Blue) integrated with LMS (Moodle) to assist students with virtual testing.
  • Comfortable with enterprise systems (Banner), exam-scheduling software (RegisterBlast), web browser editors (Drupal) and file sharing systems (Sharepoint).
  • Able to effectively collaborate and communicate with employees and internal/external stakeholders; handling sensitive issues and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a fast-paced service related environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing with a diverse group of people.
  • Proven ability to provide appropriate and timely traffic control of a fast-paced reception area with in-person visitors, telephone calls and online/remote queries while maintaining high levels of customer service.
  • Minimum keyboarding skill of 45 wpm with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb and recall large amounts of information and be able to use this in responding to client inquiries.
  • Demonstrated high quality organizational, planning, coordination, consistency and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently with minimal supervision, problem solving, exercising good judgment, respecting confidentiality and showing initiative.
  • Ability to travel and work on other campuses as required.
  • Intercampus travel is required; possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is preferred.
