About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join our transportation team. This is a fast-paced position that requires someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys problem-solving, and can build strong relationships with drivers while managing a high volume of work.
The successful candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of making quick decisions while keeping customer service and driver support top of mind. Every day brings something different, so we're looking for someone who enjoys challenges and takes ownership of finding solutions.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch and manage a fleet of drivers across various lanes and customer accounts
- Monitor shipments, appointments, and driver progress throughout the day
- Route drivers efficiently to maximize service and productivity
- Build positive relationships with drivers and customers
- Resolve issues related to delays, breakdowns, service failures, weather, and customer requests
- Communicate regularly with drivers to provide support, coaching, and direction
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers to support retention and engagement
- Work closely with customers and internal departments to ensure service expectations are met
- Research and gather information to solve operational issues quickly and accurately
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and updates within company systems
- Prioritize multiple tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Assist with driver onboarding, training, and ongoing performance coaching
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of dispatch experience in the transportation industry
- Strong understanding of trucking operations, routing, hours of service, and driver management
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a high volume of daily activity with accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Knowledge of LTL and FTL shipments preferred
- Comfortable handling conflict, difficult conversations, and operational challenges
- Proven ability to build trust and maintain positive relationships with drivers
- Self-starter who requires minimal supervision
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Reliable attendance and commitment to showing up every day ready to contribute
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient with computer systems and transportation software

Location: Winnipeg, MB
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Friday coverage may occasionally extend to 6:00-7:00 p.m.)
