Position Overview
We are looking for a caring, reliable educator to join our team for a 12-month term, with the possibility of extension depending on staffing needs. This role is ideal for someone who brings positivity, flexibility, and a love of working with young children. You’ll be part of a supportive team that works together to ensure consistent programming and smooth daily routines.
Responsibilities
- Provide nurturing, developmentally appropriate care to children in a licensed environment
- Support and implement play-based, inclusive programming that reflects the Children’s Corner philosophy
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom and outdoor space
- Build warm, respectful relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
- Follow all Children’s Corner policies, licensing regulations, and health/safety guidelines
- Assist with daily transitions, supervision, and staff coverage as needed
- Participate in team communication, meetings, and professional development
Qualifications
- NS Early Childhood Education Certification Level
- Current First Aid/CPR Level C
- Clear Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s growth and development
Assets :
- Experience in a licensed childcare setting
- Familiarity with Nova Scotia licensing standards and curriculum framework approaches
