Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Parts Advisor to join our automotive dealership team. The ideal candidate will assist customers in identifying and purchasing the correct parts for their vehicles, manage inventory, and provide exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction. Duties
- Assist customers in selecting and ordering automotive parts through POS systems and order fulfillment processes
- Maintain accurate inventory records using CMMS or other inventory management software
- Provide expert advice on parts compatibility and vehicle maintenance needs
- Handle cashiering duties including cash handling and processing payments
- Manage phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, addressing customer questions and scheduling appointments
- Support marketing efforts by promoting parts specials and services to increase sales
- Organize and maintain the parts department to ensure a clean, efficient workspace
- Collaborate with service technicians and sales teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
- Keep up-to-date with automotive repair procedures and product knowledge to better assist customers
- Perform basic maintenance tasks within the parts department as needed
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or background in automotive repair is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities
- Proficiency in POS systems, Microsoft Excel, and inventory management software such as CMMS
- Experience in retail sales, sales management, or marketing is a plus
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are advantageous for serving diverse customer bases
- Ability to handle cashiering responsibilities including cash handling and math skills for accurate transactions
- Organizational skills for managing inventory, order fulfillment, and maintaining departmental standards
- Negotiation skills to effectively upsell products and promote services
- Knowledge of automotive parts, maintenance procedures, and order fulfillment processes
- Ability to work well under pressure with strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
